Stunning Kristina Shapran & Sergei Polunin

Please excuse me: My last post didn’t work on all computers. I hope this one will do!

Enjoy this beautiful video. Wait a bit until it starts!

Have a great long weekend!

On July 2013 George Harvey and Garage Magazine invited ballet dancers Sergei Polunin and Kristina Shapran to create an unrehearsed improvisation to Satie’s Gnossienne No1.

Sergei Polunin was called the enfant terrible of ballet.

The 22-year-old Sergei Polunin dropped the bombshell in January 2012 when he was quitting London’s Royal Ballet at the height of his powers, it wasn’t for political or ideological reasons. In fact, it wasn’t even clear where Polunin was going, let alone what he was going there for.

So why would the man, who at 19 had become the youngest principal dancer in the history of Britain’s largest ballet company, apparently throw it all away? Were the stories of drug abuse – some instigated by Polunin himself in interviews – true? Was he approaching a moment of crisis – physical, artistic, mental or pharmaceutical?

When I read his posts on Facebook right now it looks like he has recovered. He will be performing LA BAYADERE on 27 March at the Stanislavsky Music Theatre in Moscow.

I danced ballet as child, albeit with little success. Despite this, my passion for ballet and dance has carried into adulthood. I still love to watch ballet performances and would love to share my passion with you.
